UGE Announces Contract for Additional Solar Projects – $3.6 Million USD

CEBU CITY, PHILIPPINES

UGE International Ltd. (UGE.V) (“UGE”), a global leader in solar energy solutions for the commercial and industrial sector, announces it has secured a contract to construct three additional solar projects for Philippine Spring Water Resources, Inc. (“PSWRI” or “Nature’s Spring”), the local manufacturer and distributor of Nature’s Spring bottled water. In total, the systems will have a rated capacity of 3.5MW, and will generate approximately 4,900,000 kWh of solar energy annually, significantly lowering energy costs for PSWRI. The additional projects come on the heels of UGE’s successful completion of PSWRI’s first solar system at their main facility in Cebu City, which was commissioned in January of this year.

“Nature’s Spring is proving to be a leader in the Philippines’ transition to clean, renewable energy, and their sustainability efforts will not go unrewarded. UGE’s rooftop solar systems provide the lowest cost energy available, now and for decades to come,” said Tyler Adkins, Regional Director for UGE. “Across the Philippines, installing rooftop solar represents a massive opportunity to significantly reduce energy bills, while simultaneously leaving a cleaner planet for future generations. It’s a no-brainer.”

By awarding these three new solar projects to UGE, PSWRI will increase both their energy independence and sustainability profile. UGE will maintain the solar systems at all three sites (at facilities in Bulacan, Laguna, and Mandaue) over their 25-plus year lifetime, during which time Nature’s Spring will greatly reduce their reliance on expensive, environmentally harmful fossil fuels. By generating a significant share of the energy consumed at each site, the projects will continue to benefit Nature’s Spring for decades to come.

“Nature’s Spring has long been a leader in the communities we serve, and as we grow our company, we want to adopt practices that are sustainable in the long run,” said PSWRI’s Chief Operating Officer. “For us, the transition to renewable energy is a big part of that future. We look forward to completing this second phase with UGE, and continuing to expand our relationship over time.”

The portfolio of projects is expected to be installed over the next six months, resulting in total revenue for UGE of approximately USD$3.6 million.
